CollX is changing the face of card collecting, bringing computer vision, machine learning, and other technology to the Hobby. We began by solving a very simple and age-old problem: helping collectors figure out what their cards are worth. The CollX app, launched in early 2022, enables anyone to snap a photo of a trading card, instantly ID it, and get the current market value. From there you can scan your collection, follow your friends, and buy, sell or trade with others. The app has quickly grown to more than 500,000 users, who have scanned 75 million cards in the first year!
Card Dealer Pro is another piece of software we built for professional dealers that allows them to rapidly document and price their cards and sell them across multiple marketplaces. This software can enable a store to not only sell online, but to sell in massive numbers. Our customers have reported that CDP has helped them to double their available inventory and revenue!
Thanks to incredible growth in our first year, CollX has scanned over 75 million cards in the first year. A key part of CollX's platform is the ability to match third-party pricing data with the cards that users are uploading. This is a challenging problem due to the lack of consistency and availability of data from third party websites, and so finding creative and robust ways to match this data is essential to the success of CollX's rapidly growing platform. We're looking for an exceptional Engineer to come and own this data matching paradigm, as well as other data driven projects that power card pricing estimates, user feed personalization, and more. The ideal candidate will know how to break down a complex problem, identify and articulate key challenges, lay out a roadmap, and most importantly be able execute in both an independent and collaborative setting.
This is an excellent opportunity for developers who are eager to work in a fast-paced startup environment where they can get their hands dirty in a wide range of projects and disciplines.
